Hiiii
I was rereading some of your stories again. And you said prevously that all of the girls are probably in in the queer community and I just thought it'd be really fun to see what type of people would all of the girls date.
I thought of something specificly about Hazel and it'd be really funny to see her dating someone whose kind of like Eddie when he was in his 20s. Like a cool metal head who has their own band and is absolutly a menace. And when thye have like their first official dinner with Hazels' dads, Eddie would mutter something along the lines of like father like daughter to Steve.
Anyway I'd love to hear you take on this. And also thank you so much for this little universe you've built❤️❤️
LOL yeah I definitely think Hazel’s first serious partner ends up turning into a whole circus of a situation because Steve and Eddie ended up being the last to find out. There's always been an inside joke in their family about Steve and Eddie dreading the potential of their daughters dating guys, so Robbie and Moe made a whole game out of intentionally not giving them all the information about Hazel's relationship just to make them sweat.
So when Hazel announces that ‘Riley’ will be coming home with her for Thanksgiving, this conversation between Moe, Robbie, and Steve transpires:
Steve, tiredly: Can one of you just tell me if Riley is a boy or a girl?
Moe: *Wow*
Robbie: Way to perpetuate the gender binary, Pop.
Robbie: What if they aren’t a boy or a girl?
Steve, not falling for her BS for a second: I *know* they’re a boy or a girl because if they weren’t you would have immediately told me their pronouns.
Steve: You’re doing this on purpose to torture me.
For the record, Riley is a girl. Riley has box-dyed red hair and she smells like patchouli and weed and she’s got a bright blue vape pen in the side pocket of her backpack and her entire outfit is two sizes too big all the way down to her shoes.
Riley dropped out of college to try getting a tattoo apprenticeship (hasn't panned out yet but "she's got a plan").
Riley says the second she steps through the doorway, “Fuck, Haze, your house is niiiiice.”
Riley tells a story at the dinner table about how she did shrooms in the woods last weekend.
All the while, Hazel has this dumb, fond smile on her face, and Eddie is horrified, and Steve spends the whole night on the verge of tears from how hard he’s trying not to laugh.
At the end of the night, when Steve and Eddie are alone in the privacy of their bedroom, Eddie is like, “Uh, so that’s gotta end, right?”
“Why?” Steve asks.
“What do you mean why? It’s Hazel, Steve, and–”
“My love,” Steve interrupts, “Do you not see it?"
"See what?"
"She's you. Riley is you when you were that age.”
And Eddie is totally dumbstruck.
#as for the other two#Moe’s “type” is her childhood best friend who she fell fast and hard for and never looked back#robbie is riley in this situation#she’s the grunge-y alt black-cat gf with a golden-retriever partner who works in marketing lol#liv’s steddie dads verse#steddie#steddie dads

Subnautica AU or 3rd installment idea (aka someone take this away from me)
Trusted employee (of 10+ years?) hired by Alterra to investigate an Abandoned Resistance camp located on an equal earthen/aquatic planet of the Andromeda galaxy to find where the current resistance camp is located (at the end, employee chooses to follow resistance).
4546B's (Kharra) situation was not the first, as Alterra had been following the clues of the Architects which directed them to 4546B in the first place, as their home world is still not known. The reason Alterra wishes to find the precursor is to "understand" them and their technology.
Alterra's true reason on finding the Architects is found within the story line, bits and pieces on PDA
Alterra doesn't know of the true reason behind the disabling of the weapon (Riley said enough to protect the Leviathan and detailed why Alterra should never return to that area).
Alterra's higher ups will use humanity's natural curiosity to fulfill their own research.
New planet:
Mesa islands
Portions of resistance bases reside in the confines of the mesa, accessible via underwater cave systems
surrounded by large aggressive species.
Only resistance members had knowledge of bypassing aggressors
Aggressor specific strategies are found as player progresses through the story
Main resistance base resides inside a mesa pocket
Tall w/ large cliffs, many avian nests, w/prawn suit(?) can make it to the top
Direct communication to Alterra for new invention to climb Mesa? (New version?)
As truth is revealed, employee create excuses
Riley returns? (At least referenced of leaving Alterra)
Player Name: Robbie or Rory (keep gen neutral)
Key themes: -What can does not equal what should -moral righteousness
Annette and Jordan were a pair to figure out the presence of a possible resistance base on the mesa planet, which lead them to find the actual bases. With their knowledge on what Alterra knew they advised the resistance to leave the planet for a new one.
Robbie/Rory provides just enough evidence on why there was a resistance (does Alterra change their approach?)
Amaya Vasquez (another resistance member or Alterra contact)
Different types of "bird" meat for different aggressive species?
A majority of resources are still prevalent in the ocean.
Two different endings? Choosing the resistance vs choosing Alterra
#subnautica#subnautica au#subnautica 3?#subnautica 3#i haven't completed the first game#i've watched streamers play#watched entire playthroughs#love the story line#I have some (not professional) sketches of creatures#my poor followers seeing the random gaming post

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Voice Actor Headcanons.
So here’s the latest update of this little series on my blog where I assign official voice actors to characters that don’t have them. I also did this with the previous title, Legends: Arceus.
I have to reiterate the same points every time, but it’s just so we’re all aware -
This is NOT CANON. These are HEADCANONS and are unofficial. It’s just a hypothetical situation. If the characters were voiced, this is who I imagine would voice them.
Every major character in both games is included here, so there are HEAVY SPOILERS for the game’s main storylines. DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME OR DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.
The only character I did not include in this is Jacq. He already has an official VA thanks to the Pokemon Go Gimmighoul Trailer. I don’t know who it is though because they go uncredited.
So without further ado, I hope you enjoy my ideas. Or don’t. Your choice.

Headcanons on Demi because she deserved it!! ♡♡
Firstly, when she first arrived at the estate, she was only interested in one thing: finding her missing brother. The woman didn't care at all about the conflicts in the new environment, about all these creepy personalities who looked gloomily at her back, about the rumors about the Oletus estate and the estate itself. Finding Sam is literally Demi's life goal. But only until it was her turn to attend the match.
I don't think the owner of the estate is ready to make concessions to newcomers, because I believe that in the first match Demi faced Jack the Ripper himself, and let's be honest, she almost fainted when his sharp blades tore her back. From fear and pain shock, she lost several of her bottles, which reduced the hope of survival at times.
Demi, like her mother, has a high drug resistance, because when the infection from scratches started, caused by rust from the blades, Emily had to tinker for a very long time to somehow bring down the temperature and become festering. By the way, several scars under the shoulder blades have not yet passed, which is why Bourbon has problems as small complexes when choosing clothes.
The desire to find her brother did not disappear even after the most bloodthirsty matches, but more and more often the barmaid began to think that she regretted her decision to leave their common bar and rush into the pool of uncertainty. Sometimes, before going to bed, she remembers quiet evenings when Sam invited her to his room for a drink and a chat.
After a long time, Demi was able to find a common language with most of the survivors, except Kreacher and Freddie. She bypasses the first one after the one in the first match, when Jack left her to bleed, did not help, and just listened to the heart-rending screams of women. Riley literally stepped over her when the dark-haired woman lost consciousness and ended up in the estate. The second one does not tolerate the spirit because of the bad attitude towards Emma and, in principle, because of his strange behavior.
Jose, Kevin and, oddly enough, Patricia are considered to be closer people to her. With Baden, they agreed on the general traits of character and love of alcohol. These passionate people often drink wine and tell each other stories from life. We managed to get a little closer to Patricia after Demi, on her birthday, gave her a tincture with medicinal herbs and one of her gold rings with a beautiful pattern. Well, a very comical (not quite) story happened to Kevin, which is why they just couldn't help but get acquainted. One day, when Robbie was the hunter and Demi was put in the basement, the cowboy, like a true gentleman and the only man in the match, ran to rescue. Unfortunately, distracted for a second, he caught a blow in the thigh with an axe and sprawled on the cold concrete. In order to somehow defuse the situation, he began to flirt with her to Robbie's loud, bubbly laughter. Most of the compliments were not heard, because the child practically did not calm down, continuing to laugh at the survivors.
Bourbon is one of the few who tried to talk to the hunter. Unfortunately, it turned out to start a small dialogue only with Joseph, who once asked what kind of strange whimsical smell was coming from her and how else the bottles with Dovlin did not break after a couple of jumps through the windows.
Wu Chang, or rather Wujiu, dislikes Demi because of the case when she chased him between the corridors in a psychiatric hospital and shouted incomprehensible drunken nonsense. At the end of the match, they still gave the team a draw, but from that moment the Black Guard promised the barmaid that if this happened again, he would turn into dust not only her, but all these ill-fated bottles of alcohol.

Haven't done this in a while but I had the time so why not?
1.- Pizza Girl by Kyoung Jean Frazier
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I really did like it, reminded me a lot of "Convinience store woman". Like clearly our protagonist needed thrapy ASAP to help her deal with her dad's death, her pregnancy, her attraction to women and hell just for existing as an Asian woman in the USA, but I liked how messy and obsesive she was and how the author allowed her to be fucked up and take bad decisions, I love to see female characters simply exist, it's also a pretty short read so I definitely recommend it.
2.-The Authentics by Abdi Nazemian
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Daría is a persian teen who is really involved in her cultural background and feels that the most important thing one can be is authentic, so that's the name she and her friends take for their clique. But everything comes crashing down on her when she discovers she is adopted, and soon follows an identity crisis. I loved it so much, it felt pretty realistic, like Daría could be self absorbed and unlikeable at times, but who wasn't as a teen? And we get such beautiful heartwarming moments between Daría and her family and friends. Totally recommend it.
3.- The Mall by Megan McCafferty
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Cassie has her life completely mapped out but nothing goes quite as planned, first she gets mononucleosis and after she gets better gets dumped and fired almost simultaneously. Determined not to let it get the best of her, Cassie gets a brand new job, reconnects with an old friend and even finds a hidden treasure. This one is so much fun, all the 90s references and the growth Cassie goes through is amazing, honeslty i would love to see this as a Netflix movie.
4.- Luster by Raven Leilani
🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book was hard, Edie is a very raw character, at first she seems flippant even when describing disturbing facts about her past or details about her relationship with a much older man she seems to be talking about something that happened to someone else all this to cope dealing with her solitude, her trauma, her self hate. And gosh it was so intresting to see her interact with Rebecca and Akila, especially Akila as Edie finds kinship in this young girl not only cuz they are both black but because they are both lost and afraid.
5.- Lakewood by Megan Giddings
🌟🌟🌟
Lena decides to participate on a financially compensated medical experiment so her mom can get proper medical care and to lessen their debts after her Grandmother's death.
So I had many mixed feelings about this, on one hand I liked that we are adressing how sistematical racism has permited experiments on black people with no consequences at all and how it has been happening for decades, but there were certain parts of the book that I couldn't enjoy as much because they were very trippy like I get we are on Lena's mind as things are becoming muddled up because of the medications and all those mind games and the words they have her memorize and repeat but all of it took me a bit away from the story. Still I do recommend it just be aware there is quite a bit of body horror in this so if you are sqeamish better skip it.
6.-The Voting Booth - Brandy Colbert
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Marva and Duke meet on election day as she helps him find the precint he is registered on.
This is very enjoyable, the story is very straightforward, and it insists on our right and responsability to vote even if we feel our vote alone can't possibly change all the injustice we see in the world. And also the romance was cute and developed slowly as Marva and Duke are just knowing each other. Really cute and quick read.
7.- Such a fun age - Kiley Reid
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Emira works as a babysitter for the Chamberleins' . She loves her little charge Briar, although she feels preassured to seek a 'real job' by her friends and by her own economic troubles. Emira soon finds herself in the middle of a tug of war between her boss Alix who tries to befriend her, and Kelley the guy she is dating.
So much drama. This is a great example of what performative activism looks like, first Alix is completely nuts, from her obsession to be seen as this wonderful understanding girl boss activist and the down right creepy sense of entitlement to Emira's friendship and intimacy. Like it doesn't surprise me she chose to victimize herself instead of recognizing it had all been a misunderstanding. And even then she still wants to seem atractive to the man she feels victimized by. Girl no.
Kelley is the ultimate fake woke ally. Dude Robbie was wrong period, he had no business inviting people over to someone else's house no matter the color of his skin. You don't get to talk over Emira on matters of what a person of color should do or feel on certain situations. That said it was so funny when he and Alix called each other out for their fetishization of people of color and yet none of them actually gave a damn about what Emira thought/felt/percieved. They just wanted her stamp of approval so they could pat themselves in the back for being such good allies.
8.- The Life and (Medieval) times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton
🌟🌟
Kit is working as a serving wench at the Castle, medieval themed restaurant run by her uncle, though she really wants to be a Knight, not only cuz the better pay would help around the house but because she really admires Joan of Arc, problem is the Castle management doesn't allow for anyone who is not a cis male to be a knight. Kit is set on changing that.
Ok so I feel a bit lukewarm toward this. Kit in my opinion doesn't get much growth, it seems she just can do whatever and her friends have to be ok w it, her romance w her friend feels pulled out of nowhere like Jett at one point tells her he is not intrested in dating her and then he is ???, those GoT references killed me, I get it I watched the show and sometimes even enjoyed it but it's not representative of anything medieval and Kit was always talking about how much she liked the actual history of the medieval times so...
Also as much as this book was about feminism and how we should fight for equal job oportunities, it feels as though Kit only cared about medieval woman who fought physically and not on the badass medieval woman, like idk it feels as a rejection of tradicional feminity like even the girl playing the Princess is a jerk. But I did like some parts, like her decision to confront her asshole dad to help her mom and the girls training together.
9.-Cien años de soledad de Gabriel Garcia Marquez
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
10.-The Monsters of music by Rebecca F. Kenney
🌟🌟🌟
This is a gender-swaped modern retelling of the Phantom of the Opera.
It was creative to make Mel, our Phantom, a true magical creature, and the singing contest was also cool. Like don't get me wrong I did have fun reading this but it also felt pretty unpolished like most characters were teens on the contest and that kinda made me roll my eyes a bit, like unless it's the Voice Kids age ranges are quite ample on this kind of shows, also kinda clumsy the addition of the magical elements with the modern setting, Kiyo didn't make much of an impression with me even when Christine is my fave on the original book. Still if you are a Phan like me you might wanna check this one out.
11.- Anna K by Jenny Lee
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a modern americanized ya retelling of Anna Karenina.
Not gonna lie this made me cry so much at the end. I really liked Anna and Vronski together so much, and I don't like the love at first sight trope, but here it felt so inevitable. Anna was so self contained until she met him and could truly explore being herself and they really loved each other so much. Also I liked the treatment of the side characters Kimmie and Dustin were well developed and I really enjoyed this one can't wait to get to the second book.
12.- Wonderland by Zoje Stage
🌟🌟🌟
It was ok, but I was actually a bit disappointed cuz I had such high expectations for it. Like for about half the book I was really into the atmospheric vibe the book pulls you into, but as we get the reveal it started to go down hill for me, and the ending left me feeling meh. But maybe it was just not my cup of tea.
13.-Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book is so well crafted!!! I love how it goes back and forth between past and present , first it feels as if history is repeating itself, then as both narratives unfold we start to question and discovering things and the twist at the end was chillin and masterful, I truly and wholeheartedly recommend it.
14.- The Girl with the louding voice by Abi Daré
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Adunni, a teenage girl, flees from her husband to work as a maid in Lagos, though everything she has ever wanted is to study.
This broke my heart, as it reflects how people coming from rural backgrounds get taken advantage of in the City, like similar things happen here in Mexico, but also it made me glad to see Adunni fight and keep her spirit so no one could ever silence her.
15.- The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Immanuel does her very best to fit in Bethel, follow the scriptures and the Prophets words, but nothing seems to be enough to erase her mother's sin especially when the Darkwood seems to pull her in. As a plague starts to ravage Bethel, Immanuel has to face her past to save her people.
So frickin' good !!!! This story is great, mainly about the explotation of woman and young girls by people in power (in this case a church), the atmosphere is always tense, Ezra and Immanuel 's relationship is very well developed and one can really see how loyal they are to each other. A great option for horror fans.

Clarisse “Clara” Fields → Margot Robbie → Black Bear Shifter
→ Basic Information
Age: 229
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Born or Made: Born
Birthday: September 3rd
Zodiac Sign: Virgo
Religion: Christian
→ Her Personality Clara has for a long time played things close to her chest. She has built walls between her true feelings and those that she portrays in an effort to control her reaction and the reactions of others. Clara finds safety and comfort in control, and is deeply disturbed when it’s taken away from her. The rigidity in the way she communicates has contributed to the somewhat ice queen facade she portrays. She has strict rules for herself and the pack and expects them to be followed. She is difficult to persuade and may hold out just to prove a point.
Clara, in addition to controlling her reactions, also enjoys controlling the way her environment looks. She is always put together, and her homes and the hotel are always immaculate. Her cleaning helps control the anxiety she feels and having beautiful environments put her at ease. Clara is very protective of her pack and has dedicated herself and her life to helping it and its members be as successful and comfortable as possible. Clara often provides support for new members when they come to the city, even helping them find jobs at the hotel or in one of the real estate companies owned by the clan. She is generous and is comfortable in sharing her wealth. She is gracious and always willing to listen, and has a long standing passion for humanitarianism. Clara often goes on environmental charity trips and has dedicated a branch of the pack towards funding them.
→ Her Personal Facts
Occupation: CEO/Owner of Fields Hotels, Head of Clan Heavy, and Council Member
Scars: None
Tattoos: None
Two Likes: Matchmaking and Humanitarianism
Two Dislikes: Her personal space being intruded and People who shirk responsibility
Two Fears: Germs and Losing/Ruining her family’s legacy
Two Hobbies: Equestrianism and Hunting
Three Positive Traits: Neat, Protective, and Dignified
Three Negative Traits: Unbending, Controlling, Anxious
→ Her Connections Parent Names:
Garland Fields (Father): Clara loved her father more than anyone. She idolized him and was constantly at his side. She had her sights on leadership from a young age, and tried to soak up everything she could from her father. Clara took on more and more responsibility as she grew up, taking over the Fields Hotel and running it successfully at the turn of the century. It was at this point that Clara began to see some concerning signs in her father: aggression, random sporadic shifts, waking up covered in blood. Clara paid the human shifters $1,000 over that year to keep her father’s antics quiet. She could see he had hypershift and couldn’t bear to let his reputation be blemished. They went out hunting and Clara killed her father, using the excuse of dementia to cover his and her tracks. She still feels guilty over this at times and will direct her guilt into anger towards Asa.
Annabelle Fields (Mother): Annabelle died before Asa and Clara turned 50. They found part of her body in the woods about 5 miles from their house. It was obvious that hunters of some kind got to her. It deeply affected each member of the Field’s family.
Sibling Names:
Asa Fields (Twin Brother): Clara and Asa have always tended to butt heads, and it's only gotten worse since he has returned from being gone. Clara feels like he’s intruding on the system she’s built and dedicated her whole life towards. She also has a lot of resentment of him not returning home when Garland died. She was entirely alone grieving her father and has felt on her own since then. A part of her is happy he is back and wants to readily trust them like she did when they were kids. Both are damaged, and at the moment Clara is treating Asa as if he were a problem member in her pack.
Children Names:
None
Romantic Connections:
None
Platonic Connections:
Taye Black (Pack Member): Taye is one of the people Clara trusts most. He’s able to handle whatever needs handling and she has come to trust his calls in situations that she isn’t there for.
Bryce Holt (Best Friend): Bryce and Clara did not start out friends. She heavily blamed Clara for the exchange that Bryce’s father requested, and loudly shouted that whenever she could. Clara finally sat down and they began talking things out. Clara offered a fraction of her own experiences, and Bryce was willing to finally open up. Their bond grew after that, and Clara considers Bryce her best friend.
Patrick Perry (Pack Member): Patrick is one of Clara’s pack that she finds particularly exhausting. She has frequently seen him talking with the Mist family and believes that he is the one who has given them so much information on the supernatural.
Anna Johansen (Pack Member): Clara has only met a dozen or so panda shifters in her time. Typically they came to be matched and then returned to their homes, so Clara is delighted to have Anna with them. She is hoping to have her take interest in the real estate side of the business, and is glad that Riley is assisting with that.
Michael Johansen (New Pack Member/Interest): Clara has found herself enjoying Michael’s company. She’d met him briefly a few times before he asked to move his pack to the city. She was happy to have a whole new crop of heavies in, but was surprised when she found herself becoming close to the former alpha.
Ezra Schultz (Good Friend): Ezra is the longest remaining pack member in Chicago, having been with the Fields since they were originally founded in New Orleans. She has seen some of the signs for dementia in Ezra and is dreading the day she will have to take care of him. She has always found him to have a “true north” conscience and never knows where he will side in board meetings.
Hollis Sony (Good Friend): Hollis and Clara are close. She has repeatedly backed Clara when tough decisions had to be made and has always been a good sounding board for issues when Clara wasn’t sure what the best path was.
Nathan Cleirigh (Psychiatrist): They rarely get to the root of any of her issues, sticking generally to her compulsions and depression and grief over her father. They have never gone deeper, despite the fact that Clara knows that they should. It embarasses her too much to talk about her other relationships and opinion of herself.
Chris Bialar (Fellow Alpha): Chris and Clara have gotten closer over the recent years when they realized how much they have in common in regards to their packs. They are both facing dwindling numbers with an inability to replace them.
Nick Hamelin (Fellow Alpha): Clara used to think Nick hated her, as she was the constant center of his jabs, but when she confronted him he set her straight. They stay out of each other’s way, generally, and both care greatly about their packs. Clara does actively avoid getting on his bad side, as she knows what the repercussions may be.
Ellis Watts (Fellow Alpha): Clara and Ellis get along fine. They aren’t particularly close, but she respects how he runs his pack and the leadership that he and his higher ups show.
Percy McCormick III (Fellow Alpha): Clara has known Percy since they were children. He has always been a show man and is great at being a person that people think they should follow, but he isn’t a leader. However, no one has pushed against him in the pack, and she would never undermine another leader.
Isaac Baker (Fellow Alpha): Isaac and Clara have very different styles in meetings and they tend to clash. Isaac is short, arupt, and disregards the traditions put in place that have kept everything running smoothly in the first place. That being said she respects his willingness to stand up for his principles even if he is standing alone.
Scorpius Getta (Business Associate): Scorpius bailed the Heavies out, for a steep price that Clara and her pack are still paying off today. However, he has always treated her and the deal with the utmost professionalism and respect, which Clara returns.
Dan Prior (Old Acquaintance): Clara knew Dan from when he was human. His parents were often in talks with her own, and she thinks they even considered the change before he “disappeared”. They still talk when she goes down.
Maxine Vanes (Liaison): Max is on Clara’s speed dial for whenever the rats cross the line with her hotel. She is often able to deal with it well enough where Clara doesn’t have to talk to Nick.
Talia Cleirigh (Former Business Associate): Talia used to put her and Asa to bed and stop the nightmares that they frequently had over their mother. She used her on and off until she made her deal with Getta. That was too private of information to allow someone to see. She still has temporary insomnia, but uses that time to check on the hotel and get other work done.
Hostile Connections:
Sam Thompson (Board Member): Clara has known Sam her whole life. They grew up together, almost like siblings. However, he has always been a challenging force throughout her leadership and recently she’s lost much of her trust in him. He holds the same resentment towards Clara that his father held for Garland. That they were cheated out of a position. It at one point caused Clara great anxiety and sleepless nights, wondering when he was going to challenge her. She finally decided to stop waiting around and began training to fight in her human physical form. She has continued to wait for an attack, especially after she had to kill Sam’s wife four years ago. For all that Clara dislikes Sam, she is incredibly impressed that he held on for his kids, and believes he is genuinely a good father, and even leader at times.
Eliza Meyers (Board Member): Eliza gets the short end of the stick, mostly due to her age. She is young and parrots whatever Sam says, which has led to Clara ignoring her opinion for almost the entirety of her being on the council. She has decided to let her take the lead in this new project of creating the indoor hunting ground.
Pets:
None - Clara has difficulty with animals being indoors, though this is an issue she is working on.

Is that ADAM STEELE? Wow, they do look a lot like COLE SPROUSE. I hear HE is/are a EIGHTEEN year old FRESHMEN who are studying PSYCHOLOGY at Luxor University. Word is they are a(n) REGULAR student. You should watch out because they can be GUARDED and AGGRESSIVE, but on the bright side they can also be LOYAL and POSITIVE. Ultimately, you’ll get to see it all for yourself. Adam Shane Steele
Nicknames: A, A-damn

Adam’s family had been rather normal when he was younger. he had teo parents who loved each other. He had and older brother, Robbie, and a younger sister, Riley.
His parents both worked in stressful jobs. His mother was a nurse and father was a police officer. They both worked so they would have enough money to send all three children to Luxor Academy and University.
The stressful job his father worked became more and more stressful as he went up the ranks in the department. By the time he was seven his father had become police chief and started to hit the bottle.
Adams father began to become physically violet towards his mother.
Shortly after his mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer and given six months to live. This killed Adam as he was a mama’s boy through and through.
Those six months were an extremely dark time for the Steele family. One parent was barely alive and the other was a full fledge alcohol that abused his sick wife and kids.
When their mother finally passed away and was relieved from her suffering, Adam and his siblings were beginning to suffer even more than ever. His father became a tyrant over the house. Making the children feel like prisoners.
All the kids ever abused really badly but Adam got it extra rough. Even before his mother died he would get in between his father and whoever was his target of the day.
Adam has burns and scars all over his body. The years of abuse has given him depression, which he hides pretty well feeling as if he needs to be strong for his siblings. He also has PTSD when he is put inn curtain situations.
When he went to Luxor he felt helpless knowing that Riley was going to have to spend a full year at home without him to protect her.
When Adam found out about Rileys accident he pulled himself out of school and went home. He continued his studies at home and tutored Riley to keep her as up to date as possible.
Adam is the type of guy to take his shirt off and give it to those in need. Having lived in an abusive environment most of his life he tries to make sure others have an easier time at life than he did.
The abuse that he endured pushed Adam to join boxing. To make sure he could learn to protect him and his family a little better.

The royal romance
Chapter one- Homecoming
Summary: You are an actress working on a show called ‘the royal romance,’ you have been for a year now. The cast and crew are back after hiatus to film after the show has been renewed for a second series, but with new cast members you soon realise none of it is going to be the same. You’re trying to stay professional but when a blast from your past comes back to haunt you, you’re forced to face it. (That summary was probably a little bit dramatic 😉😉😉).
Word count: 664
Warnings: None.
A/N: This is my first time writing a reader insert thing so bear with me. This is just kind of a trial run just to see how this is gonna work. All the characters belong to Pixelberry.
The cast list HERE
Perma tags: @desiree-0816, @cordoniaqueensworld, @itschoicesstuff, @roisebeaumontworld21
Just let me know if you’d like to be tagged.
And action!” the director called.
After the events of last season your character now sits in an airport after being forcibly removed from the ballroom.
“Now boarding economy class for passengers of flight PB205 to New York City,” The robotic woman’s voice called over the ‘intercom’.
You stood from your seat grabbing your bag, remembering all you’re stage directions. You gave one last look to the guards that had escorted your character, Riley, to the airport in the story.
“That’s me,” you mumbled, just loud enough for your microphone secretly hidden within your outfit to pick up. “Goodbye, Cordonia.”
The frightful guards watched as you slung the strap over your shoulder, digging into your pocket for your boarding pass when the doors swung open and…
“Wait! Riley!” ‘Maxwell’ called. Dylan O'Brien and Daniel Gillies stalked toward you.
“Maxwell! Bertrand!” You continued. As they were about to reach you the ‘guards’ intercepted them.
“Hey!” Dylan’s character Maxwell yelled.
“You will keep your hands to yourselves. I am the Duke of Ramsford,” Daniel screamed in his ‘Bertrand voice’ as the cast referred to it as. Oh, it was good to be back.
The rest of the scene went smoothly, like it always did. Last week you had attended the read through at it was just lovely to see everybody after such a while. You caught up on things you’d been doing over hiatus. You told them all about a horror film you were starring in called ‘it lives in the woods’ and that it was about to hit theatres. They in turn told you about their own projects.
There was a certain kind of pressure on set to make this season as good as the last. The public response from season one was tremendous being the reason why it was renewed for a second series.
You were annoyed about what happened last series with your character and Naveed Choudhry's character Tariq but were beyond excited about the storyline for Riley this season. The audience was beyond peeved at Tariq as well, that made you laugh at how invested they had become, but you were extremely proud of the huge fan base you had gotten from the previous season.
Today was a weird day in the way you were filming. Shows very rarely filmed things in order. Like last season you filmed anything that was on location, like outside the palace stuff was filmed in Poland, the statue of liberty obviously in new York and all the stuff in ‘Lythikos’ first, because it just worked out better that way to do all the traveling at the start of the production before the end when everyone would be tired.
The name of this episode was quite ironic because for the entire cast it did feel like coming home. You'd been on shows where you didn't get along with people, but there wasn't anyone on this show you didn't get along with, it really was like a little family.
Daniel di Tamasso who played Drake was somebody you had become really good friends with along with Daniel Gillies, Dylan O'Brien, Angelababy and because you had spent most of the first season in their presence.
You, Sophie turner who played Olivia and Margot Robbie who played Madeline were really good friends too. It didn't look that way on camera but that was just because they were phenomenal actresses.
In your opinion they were too many Daniels on this show. First you had Daniel Henney who played Liam, Daniel di Tamasso who played Drake and Daniel Gillies who played Bertrand. They were actors who you worked with very closely and it got confusing sometimes.
You and Daniel di Tamasso had adopted using your last names like your characters often did on the show, it made the Daniel situation easier.
All in all you were just happy to be back on the show and to be working with so many amazing actors who you admired profoundly. It just couldn't get any better.

The Bar- Total Take Over.
“Jason, What are trying you doing this to me?” I ask him as he brushes past me in extreme in anger, and he is super annoyed as he sighs at me pointing to the door. “You know you are not supposed to be in the back room, and in total disappointment on my part I trusted him.” He says to me. I angrily close the door behind me as I slam it, and he approaches me in all of his tone muscular glory. I walk over to him intent on making a point, I use all my skinny body to push him to the wall, and I lift up to kiss him.
He looks shocked as he shoves me back to my feet, he looks at me in horror as he was left so speechless, and I open the door as I drop cash on his table. I run out to the back of the bar I’m excitement, I watch as the door slams reliving the moment, and I burst into total laughter an tears. I feel a few rain drops as the rain slowly falls on me, I dance around in the rain as my clothes get wet, and I feel all of the air in the surrounding area. I hear the door erupt open in back of me.
Jason grabs me by the shirt making me feel my feet lift off the ground, he looks at me so intensely as I stare back at him, and I feel his lips touch mine. A shock went through both of our bodies, he drops me as I come back to reality, and I remember he was white. I turn around to walk away when he rushes me, and I fight back as I try to get him off me. He stops me spreading my arms like a cross and he kiss me again over an over again as expected.
—————————————————————
“I don’t no what to say to you.” I say to him as I look in shock, an he smiles at me happily in awe, and all he wanted was for me to let go of myself. “Excuse me, Do you need my help sir?”Billy a young sexy, muscled, and white guy ask me. He stares at me as I tell him I am truly and I am totally fine with my situation. He shakes his head as Jason looks over at him in total annoyance. Jason stares at him as he glares back something was in the air, and he looks back at me.
“Do you know my friend here or something? He is with me.” I here Jason yell. Drew steps up to him as he shoves Jason back and the two them go at. Fist, knees, feet and elbows hitting each other in defense of me as Drew I suddenly mine. “What the hell?”I hear my own voice scream as it bounces around the backyard. I don’t give them chance as I take my anger out on the canister next to me, and I walk out of the room only to be chased.
Jason takes the back alley, but Drew finds me as he drops to his knees, he totally grovels at my knees as he kisses my feet and I grab his shirt with his weight on my hand. I successfully have pull him up a bit as I kiss him, and Drew is looking at me as our lips touch an he falls for me. He stands up staring at me as he kisses me again, this time he kisses me with so much love, and Jason caught us as he was not happy.
—————————————————————-
We head back to the bar as he Drew jumps on to the bar stool, jumping over the bar counter, and he blows me a kiss as the crowd looks on disgusted. I smile as Jason helps me over to the other side, and we head into his office as he pushes all of his work on the table. We are making out looking like crazy at each other, and we fall in love with each other happily. He kisses me again as he lifts me onto his lap, he kisses my neck down as he take off my shirt.
He kisses my body all over with his lips as he sniffs my scent and I fell so deeply in love with him for the more. Suddenly, we heard a loud thunderous crash as we rush out to see his younger brother. Riley was a playboy to the core someone everyone hated, envied and well wanted to kill. Including myself I won’t lie about that, he greets me as he notices Jason roll his eyes, and Drew look on ready to snap my neck.
It was me apparently, well my scent really it was perspiring out, and the touch of my hand is excitedly giving him goose bumps. He was all on me like rice as he jumps over the bar, he lands on top of me as we fall backwards onto the ground, and we both laugh as the other two join us. “Meet me in the back after you get some more bar man here.” I command all of them so I had time to prepare, I open the door to find Jason’s other brother Robbie laying on the bed.

A Cosmic Awakening: My 2017 Spiritual Journey
[NOTE: I created a playlist of spiritual songs that would be good to listen to while reading this article: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmlyrFwts2a1v1tfM1ZWwjv2BcTV3x2-s]
Jai Guru Dev!
This year has been an incredible year of spiritual development in my life! In 2017, I experienced a great spiritual awakening like no other I have felt in year! With it being the season of Advent and near to Christmas, the time is perfect to open up a little about myself that many do not know and relate my many spiritual experiences in 2017 that have significantly improved my life and overall well-being for the better. A Trifecta of wonderful organizations I joined this year have totally changed my life; they are Freemasonry, Transcendental Meditation ™, and the Episcopal Church.
Before 2017, particularly in 2014-2015, I would not go so far as to say I was in a dark place, but I was in serious need of a new direction in my life. When I graduated college in 2014, I had several successful short films and music videos on my student filmography and expected to continue onto graduate film school or a career at motion picture film studios in Hollywood or another major city and work towards becoming a successful up-and-coming TV/film producer. However, that situation did not happen even though it possibly could have easily gone in that direction had certain professors who made me feel special and important kept their word and gave me at least just an ounce of support post-graduation (Thank you Robby Benson). I also was really torn when both my aunt died and the girl I really liked throughout college shut me out of her life around the same time. It took me a really long time to get over these losses in my life and my career not taking the path it should at that time; spent several tear-filled nights and took several long contemplative jogs to comprehend why I could lose so much after having so many successes in college and everything seemed like it had gone so well.
A few months after graduation, I got a production assistant job at a news TV station in Indianapolis. It is a decent job and within my field and I love my coworkers, but really I could have been and should be more widely known as “Colin Denhart, up-and-coming filmmaker” instead of “Avery and Emily’s older brother who went to Jeff High School but didn’t play sports and works for a TV station.” All I really had were my coworkers, a few close friends, and my family. I would spend my days working at the TV station, watching movies, listening to music, working out, visiting family/friends, working on ideas/scripts for future film projects, going on occasional dates that went mostly nowhere (none of them could compare to the girl I once loved), and trying to figure out how am I going to achieve my career and life goals given my current situation. All of this was fine and dandy for the most part but I felt something was missing and wanted more out of life and wanted to do something more significant and had real purpose. I spent sleepless nights thinking, “Is this really it? Is this all my life is going to be or am I destined for something greater?”
In 2016, I had a dream that was more like a holy vision in which I saw the Universe like a giant color wheel, with each colored pieces representing all the different types of people of this world. The pieces of the wheel were in a constant struggle to stay together with love and happiness being the sources of power for the Universe and fear and hate being what divides and causes harm to the Universe. I also had a divine realization that we all are either shepherds or sheep; the staff is in front of us and it is our duty to take the staff and become good shepherds and achieve greatness in the Universe or we are just mere sheep and destined to become nothing more than packaged meat. I knew this was a sign I needed to make a positive impact on the Universe and bring myself and others closer to the Supreme Being (God, Allah, Yahweh, Vishnu, Shiva, whatever you wish to call Him) and do good deeds in this world and work towards bringing others to enlightenment. I needed to be surrounded by the right people if I was to improve my spiritual health.
The first group I joined in 2017 was The Freemasons! I had read about Freemasonry in the past and was familiar with references made to the organization in many TV shows and movies (particularly Eyes Wide Shut and National Treasure). My parents and grandparents were not Freemasons, but I learned that my ancestors had Masonic affiliation. Freemasonry is not a religion but it is a fraternal organization with sacred rituals rooted in the Old Testament of the Bible and traces its origins to the building of King Solomon’s Temple over 4 thousand years ago. Members must be males at least 18 years of age (21 years in some jurisdictions) and cannot be atheist (Women who are married to or related to Freemasons can join an appendant group called the Order of the Eastern Star). I really like too how all religious denominations and political beliefs are welcome in the Masons so everyone is on equal footing and creates a sense of universality within the group. I was intrigued by the history, symbolism and secrecy of the organization. Also the fact that all these famous celebrities and historical figures and movers and shakers of the world were Freemasons made feel not necessarily that joining the Freemasons would make me rich and famous but that it is an important group that has had a tremendous impact on world society and it would be ideal for me to join if I want to make a positive dent in the Universe.
When I arrived at an open house to learn more about Freemasonry and made my first contact with the group in January, I was not sure what to expect. These are the guys that supposedly “control the world” (haha), so I was initially somewhat intimidated and nervous I would not make a good impression. However, my fears were subsided as I immediately clicked with the wonderful men who welcomed me with open arms and soon became my friends and then, after my initiation in April, my brothers.
The guys in my lodge are among the nicest and finest men I have ever met. We have grown so close over this year, my Freemason brothers all feel like they are my uncles, cousins, or literal brothers. I am blessed and honored to call them my brothers! I have met some really important people in the Freemasons and made great connections! Some of my brothers have become important people in my life; one brother is now my dentist, another brother composes my recent film projects, and after discovering some of my coworkers are fellow Masons, I feel a deeper connection to them at work.
We have some absolutely terrific times together in the Freemasons. I enjoy all our fine gourmet dinners; always prepared homemade by the Junior Warden, Senior Steward and Junior Steward of the Lodge. We have exciting times in all our social activities, including a weekend camp retreat, a visit to the first Grand Lodge of Indiana in Madison, and presenting the US flag at a Colts game. Most important of all is our charity work. In April, we delivered flowers to widows of deceased Freemasons and helped do some yard work. In the same month, we cooked meals for the parents of patients at Riley’s Hospital for Children. Just a couple weeks ago, we wrapped presents for needy family. Working all these and other charitable events throughout the year were great experiences and a wonderful way to help the local community.
The greatest and deepest part of Freemasonry has been the ritualist work. I’m not allowed to ever reveal to non-Masons what goes on during Lodge or the degree work, but there are parts which are some of the deepest spiritual experiences I have felt. I feel a great connection to the Supreme Being through my brothers and the sacred craft work we do. Overall, Freemasonry has greatly improved my life on a spiritual and social level. I feel as though I am a part of something greater in this world and will go on to do important things for society in the Freemasons.
Now on to TM! In early May, I needed some way to get rid of all the intense stress in my life caused by the death of my grandfather, my serious car crash, and the intense workload at the TV station, where I am constantly exposed to depressing news stories several times a day. One of my Freemasons brothers mentioned Transcendental Meditation. I had heard of TM through one of my favorite filmmakers David Lynch and read about how famous celebrities such as The Beatles, Tom Hanks, Oprah, and Jerry Seinfeld practice it but never seriously looked into for my self. I have always been interest in India and Eastern cultures and spirituality, having read the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Dhammapada in the past and visited a local Hindu temple a few times in 2016 and having been a life-long listener of George Harrison’s Indian-inspired music. I desired to learn meditation as a means to remove all the stress in my life, boost my creativity, and feel better connected to the Universe.
I went to the local TM Center and my instructor taught me how to practice TM on June 10th, 2017. Since then, the practice of TM has become a major part of my everyday life! I meditate usually 20 minutes every morning and 20 minutes before dinner. I practice yoga asana stretches and pranayama breathing exercises which I also learned through TM. I follow an Ayurvedic diet based on my dosha (individual body type based on pulse, personality, and other factors); I’m pitta-kapha. Just recently, I learned an advanced sleeping technique taught by Vedic experts who came to our TM Center all the way from India. All of it has significantly reduced stress and greatly improved my physical, spiritual and mental health, increased my work performance, helped me conquer deep-rooted anxieties, and has overall boosted my enjoyment of life and elevated me to a higher state of consciousness.
Meditation really gets my mind working in ways I never knew were possible and is almost like having super powers. For example, while I meditate I sometimes experience long past thoughts and memories, and other times I can feel like I’m gliding through various thoughts as I move towards the source of thought. During one meditation, I was able to vividly see my elementary school classroom as if I were there. In another instance, I flashed back to summer camp and could clearly hear camp songs in my head. I can read people better and perceive the world and things around me in different ways. In deepest states of meditation I can see the Supreme Being and feel a great spiritual connection to the Universe whenever I meditate, especially in groups.
The community aspect of TM has been absolutely wonderful! I always look forward to every TM class to learn more about the techniques and different aspects of meditation and consciousness and other related subjects (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has been dead for nearly a decade but he still teaches parts of the class since there are thousands of hours of videos of his instructions). I enjoy getting to see and talk to the same people at the weekly group meditations and monthly (inter)national group meditation events (one fellow meditator has actually become a good friend an joined the Freemasons, so he is now my brother). I also really had an incredible time at our TM retreat in July; being at the camp felt like I was in wonderland and brought feelings of being back in summer camp from my earlier years.
I have taken my interest in meditation outside the TM program and have read several books about meditation and discussed with other spiritual-minded friends various meditation techniques. I have even experimented with combining different aspects of meditation to come up with my own advanced meditation procedures to better increase the flow of cosmic energy and create a state of unity consciousness. I could be on to something big with continued practice and more refinement. Overall, TM has had a phenomenal impact on my spiritual life and has brought me significantly closer to the Supreme Being and achieving enlightenment.
Now onto the Episcopal Church! In July, my best friend came to visit for Independence Day. We got to talking about our lives and I mentioned all the great things about TM and The Freemasons, and he recommended, with all this spiritual development I had gone through, I should really join a church.
I was born and raised Catholic. I went to Catholic school from preschool through 8th grade and was an devout altar boy in high school. In college, I regularly attended church but I kept my religious life more on the down low because in some ways there had become a negative stigma surrounding Christianity for the past several years where the term “Christian” became synonymous with “redneck,” “anti-gay,” “anti-choice,” “anti-women,” “anti-liberal,” “anti-poor,” “anti-fun,” etc. For example, one time a girl walked out on me during a date because she was turned off by my small heirloom crucifix that hangs above my bedroom door and assumed my faith equated to these negative connotation. I blame this negative view of Christianity on conservatives and fundamentalists who highjacked the word “Christian” to advance their narrow-minded views and condemn deemed unworthy over the past several years but especially in the late 2000s/early 2010s. I kind of stopped going to church after graduating college mostly from being burnt out by over 20 years of regular church attendance. I also never really found a church when I first moved to Indianapolis and having worked weekends initially at my job it was difficult for me to find time to attend church.
I still have great respect for the Catholic Church and my Catholic friends but feel my political and religious views have evolved beyond the teachings of the Catholic Church in my years of not attending church. I did my research on other denominations and fell in love with the Episcopal Church! I like how the Episcopal Church is essentially a progressive version of the Catholic Church that takes more liberal stances on social issues and seems to be less self-righteous and more open-minded and accepting to differing spiritual beliefs. It is rooted in Catholicism (i.e. similar beliefs, same sacraments, priests/bishops/deacons, almost identical mass structure, similar architecture) but with a greater sense on community and adjusts with the times (i.e. women can be priests, priests can be married, gay marriage is allowed within the church). I also really enjoy the music and the use of a large pipe organ and choir and how there are special ceremonies that are dedicated to singing prayers such as Evensong.
Since joining the Episcopal Church, I have fully immersed myself in the faith! I go to church every Sunday and sometimes other days during the week. I love all the Faith Forum classes the priests teach on Sundays before Eucharist service. Every afternoon after church, I go out to brunch with fellow parishioners and we discuss life and the faith which is a truly great way to help each other grow in faith. In November, I received the Sacrament of Reception which essentially is an extension of Confirmation. I also am actively involved in the young adults group and have met many fellow believers who are my age who have since become close friends, some even collaborators on film and music projects. I absolutely love the priests at the church and feel I can make really great personal connections with them and enjoy their company as they help me to grow in faith.
I have not been more excited about the Church or religion as it relates to my spiritual life as I am now since my later elementary school years. In the 4th through 6th grade, I attended St. Boniface Catholic School. In some ways, that time period might have been among the best ever for me and my family. In this era, my siblings and I would spend fun times almost every weekend at our grandparents’ house, our first dog Bella was still young, I hung out with my best friends (usually involved playing PS2 and watching movies), I actually played sports (my dad was the football coach), my mom had her knitting company and still worked at the YMCA and my sister Emily and I got to play in the Game Room (my brother Avery was too young to join us which he always envied), went to summer camp every year, all my extended family was happy and healthy and without strife, and I was first getting into film. It was an incredible time!
During this prepubescent era, I became totally engrossed in my religious faith and was totally intrigued with the history, structure and symbolism of the Church, stories of saints, relics, etc. Father Tim and Sister Lenore were two of the greatest educators I had and were the ones who really got me into the faith. The priests I have grown to know and love within the Episcopal Church are the closest I have come to capturing that feeling I had with Fr. Tim and Sr. Lenore at St. Boniface.
I feel as though a part of my spiritual journey this year has been in part trying to get back to these old times as I feel my faith has never been as strong since then until now. I was on a spiritual path then that got sidetracked and I now realize that my spiritual life has always been what is most important; not my film career, my job, my family/friends, school, girls, etc. Working towards becoming closer to the Supreme Being and spiritual enlightenment will cause everything else to fall rightly into place.
Christianity had not been a major part of my life for a long time, but when one takes a step back for awhile and studies and explores other religions different from those he originally held, he comes back to the Church with an evolved faith that maintains its apostolic roots but expands his religious understandings on a much deeper spiritual level. It is not so much belonging to a specific religion or denomination that is important. What is important is that one belongs to positive spiritual groups that bring him closer to the Supreme Being and lead him towards enlightenment. Those places can be churches, lodges, meditation centers, temples, synagogs, mosques, ashrams, covens, or any other group. When one finds the Supreme Being within him and develops himself spiritually and knows the direction he should take, everything else in his life comes together and falls nicely into place.
Overall, the Trifecta, as I call my combination of Freemasonry, Episcopal Church and TM, has greatly improved my life if not totally changed it! I find in all the aspects of my spiritual life I fully experience the Holy Trinity: The Father in my devotion to God in the Freemasons, The Son in my devotion to Christ in the Episcopal Church, and The Holy Spirit in my meditative practices through TM. I feel as though I am no longer “Avery and Emily’s older brother who went to Jeff but didn’t play sports and works for a TV station.” I know my purpose in life and have a greater positive connection with my family, close friends, coworkers, and everyone I meet. The line of who I consider family also has blurred significantly! I used to feel really alone in Indianapolis outside my friends and coworkers, but now I have so many wonderful people in my Lodge, my church, and my TM group who are part of my life. They are more my family than my actual family, which says a lot because I love and am super close with my real immediate family. I love everyone I have met this year and appreciate the truly wonderful connections I have made! I feel closer to the Supreme Being and the best I have felt on a spiritual, physical and emotional level in many years.
In 2018, I will continue to my spiritual journey by continuing to grow within my groups. I was recently appointed to the officer position as Marshal at my Lodge for this coming year and look forward to serving in that role and helping to continue to make our Lodge one of the best in Indiana and supporting the local community. I also intend to learn more of the Advanced Techniques in TM and possibly even visit temples and other spiritual locations. I additionally plan to sign up next fall for the Education for Ministry (EfM), which is an advanced education program offered by the Episcopal Church. I definitely will incorporate elements of all the Trifecta into my future film work and hope my work will inspire others to expand their spirituality and move towards enlightenment. In the distant future (ideally 2026 (the next year of the Horse)), I would like to make a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash which is one of the holiest place on Earth and full of spiritual energy.
I look forward to wherever my spiritual journey leads. 2017 will go down as Year One in my adult spiritual life. I realize my spiritual life is more important than anything else, and I now have a clearer path for where to take my life. Even though I’m not the big-time filmmaker I wanted to be (yet), with the support of my family, friends, and brothers, I will achieve greatness and make the world a better place for all. I have found a sense of fulfillment in my spiritual life and love I have for everyone in my life could not be great. I am a shepherd and not a sheep!
Thank you all! So mote it be!

Here’s this week’s NFL mock draft — with TRADES
Ohio State cornerback prospect Jeff Okudah will likely be a top-10 pick in 2020.
Deals are part of every draft. This week’s NFL mock looks at some that could happen.
Trades are the single most intriguing part of any NFL Draft. It will be no different for the 2020 iteration. Four of the first 32 picks have already been moved, but they all come at pick No. 18 or later.
Rest assured, plenty of picks inside the top 10 will get moved. Last year 12 picks in the first round changed hands. That includes the No. 30 being swapped three times.
This week’s mock draft might not explore trades that complex, but it makes some predictions about which teams could be moving around in the first round.
1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
2. Washington: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
When is the last time the first and second picks in the draft were so obvious before the NFL Scouting Combine? It might have been 2015, when Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota went first and second. Before them, it was probably 2010 with Sam Bradford and Ndamukong Suh. All that really means is that we should easily be able to predict the 2025 draft when the time comes.
TRADE: Miami sends pick Nos. 5 and 18 to Detroit for pick No. 5.
3. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
The Dolphins have plenty of draft ammunition to move up to get Tagovailoa. While the teams directly in front of them don’t need a quarterback, the teams behind them do. Instead of chancing things, they can shift some excess draft capital.
4. New York Giants: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
If Miami does trade up to No. 3, the speculation with the draft starts with the Giants. If they can fight the right partner, they could even move back a few picks and still get a starter-level offensive tackle in the top 10. If they stay here, they could go after a superstar player like Simmons. New York’s defense is low on playmakers, and pass rusher Markus Golden is a free agent.
5. Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
No team gave up more than Detroit’s 284.4 yards passing per game last season, and it was particularly bad down the stretch, allowing more than 300 yards per game in the final three weeks. The Lions need a lockdown cornerback like Okudah. They’d be justified in taking him third overall, so it would be a coup to drop back and get him and another first-round pick this year.
6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
Barring a free agent signing, the Chargers definitely need Herbert in the first round this year. If they do, the rest of their offseason plan has to involve improving a porous offensive line.
TRADE: Jacksonville sends pick Nos. 9 and 42 to Carolina for pick No. 7
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Carolina Panthers): Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
If Brown doesn’t get selected in the first six picks, the Jaguars would be smart to jump up and not risk losing out on him. Jacksonville had one of the NFL’s worst run defenses last season, and Brown should help improve it. With two-first round picks because of the Jalen Ramsey trade, the Jaguars could get creative.
8. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
If a couple of trades happen in front of them, the Cardinals could get lucky and have their pick of offensive linemen. Wirfs might be a right tackle, but he’s a sensational one. He has the athleticism teams covet and would help keep Kyler Murray upright.
9. Carolina Panthers: Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
The best way for a new head coach to reshape a roster in his vision is to acquire draft picks. With a seven-year contract in hand, new Panthers coach Matt Rhule could take that approach to Carolina. Passing on Brown will be difficult, but getting an extra second-round pick this year could be worth it. While Kinlaw isn’t the run stuffer Brown is, he’s a standout talent who creates pressure up the middle.
TRADE: Las Vegas sends pick Nos. 12, 80, and a 2021 second-rounder to Cleveland for pick No. 10
10. Las Vegas Raiders: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
Another team with multiple first-round picks is the Raiders, who could also get creative. Specifically, they may want to get ahead of the Jets to take the wideout they prefer. That could be Jeudy, a smooth receiver who should make an impact immediately in the NFL.
11. New York Jets: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
It’s true, the Jets could take an offensive tackle here, and it would be a fine choice. Sam Darnold has almost no weapons on offensem though. Robby Anderson, his best wide receiver, could sign elsewhere this offseason. Keeping Darnold’s pocket clean is nice, but he needs to throw someone the ball.
12. Cleveland Browns: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
Once again, the Browns have a new general manager and head coach, and they could take advantage of the draft’s offensive tackle depth and move down while getting extra picks. Whether it’s Wills, Georgia’s Andrew Thomas, or Louisville’s Mekhi Becton, they should be able to find a starting tackle in this range.
13. Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
Surprise! Love’s production dipped in 2019, but the Colts could get desperate after an up-and-down season from Jacoby Brissett once he replaced Andrew Luck. If the Colts convince themselves that Love really is the next Patrick Mahomes, they will jump on him in the top 15.
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
Look, of course the Buccaneers need to figure out quarterback and their pass rush. But year after year, this team manages to ignore the offensive line. Since 2016, Tampa Bay has drafted just two offensive linemen. Not two tackles or two guards. Two total in four drafts.
15. Denver Broncos: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
We’re back to Ruggs landing in Denver. It just fits. Ruggs is a deep speed receiver, and Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is a deep-ball specialist. Next.
16. Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
If Epenesa is available for the Falcons, it’s hard to say no. The Falcons could lose Vic Beasley and Adrian Clayborn this offseason, and Takkarist McKinley is a free agent after the 2020 season. The pass rush situation for Atlanta is dire.
17. Dallas Cowboys: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Don’t forget, after the 2018 season, people were gaga for Delpit. Like, top-five pick gaga. His 2019 was a bit of a letdown, but he was hurt and asked to play deep safety more often. When he’s healthy, he’s a playmaker.
18. Detroit Lions (via Pittsburgh via Miami): K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge, LSU
Despite adding Trey Flowers last offseason, the Lions still need someone who can get to the quarterback. Chaisson is a bit of a projection, but in the right system he can make an impact as a standup edge player.
19. Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Raiders took Trayvon Mullen in the second round last year and could find him a partner on the outside in the first round this year. Diggs is a big cornerback who can press and stick with speed receivers, even at 6’2.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars: (via Los Angeles Rams): Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
The Jaguars became a good team a couple seasons ago thanks to a stellar defense. With a second first-round pick in the draft, they can rebuild that side of the ball in a big way. Fulton has good size and speed for the position, and can play in the slot or outside.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
A run on defenders in front of them could be beneficial for the Eagles. That would allow a wide receiver to slip to them, whether it’s Shenault, Clemson’s Tee Higgins, or Penn State’s K.J. Hamler.
22. Buffalo Bills: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
The Bills lack a wide receiver with size who can make a difference. Higgins, at 6’4 with jump ball skills, checks that box. Higgins is going to get dinged in the draft because his speed is relatively normal. But few receivers can match him for his ability to go up and get the ball.
23. New England Patriots: Jacob Eason, QB, Washington
In any other year when they don’t have a second-round pick, the Patriots would likely move down. But strange things happen when a quarterback is at stake. In this case, it’s for the chance at landing a project player with upside in Eason. The Patriots could go from Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady to a Drew Bledsoe clone.
TRADE: Miami sends pick Nos. 26 and 70 to New Orleans for pick No. 24
24. Miami Dolphins (via Houston Texans): Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
The Dolphins really have the ammunition to do what they want in this draft. If they see a player they covet, they’d be smart to get him. Thomas has experience at both tackle spots and acquainted himself well on the left side the last two seasons.
25. Minnesota Vikings: Josh Jones, OT, Houston
Thomas and Jones both fell a little bit in this week’s mock draft, but never forget that no one really knows what’s going to happen on draft night. If Jones slides, the Vikings can stop his free fall at No. 25 and Riley Reiff can finally be moved off the left tackle spot.
26. New Orleans Saints: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
A trade for the Saints is the ideal because they have no second-round picks this year. If they miss out on Love and Eason, they could wait another year on a quarterback prospect. Instead, they could turn to the back part of the defense, where the team sorely lacks outside cornerbacks besides Marcus Lattimore. Sure, Janoris Jenkins is there, but he could be a money-saving cut.
TRADE: Kansas City sends pick Nos. 32 and 63 to Seattle for pick No. 27
27. Kansas City Chiefs (via Seattle Seahawks): Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
This trade was just as much about Seattle’s penchant for making deals than anything else. The Chiefs might want to move up to snag Queen before the Packers take him. Queen is a player I think will get hot leading up to the draft, and the Chiefs badly need linebacker help. The team’s other big need — running back — can be found at any point.
28. Baltimore Ravens: Terrell Lewis, Edge, Alabama
As a hybrid pass rusher, Lewis is the perfect fit for Baltimore. Lewis is a long and fast pass rusher who could replace Matt Judon if he leaves in free agency.
29. Tennessee Titans: Austin Jackson, OT, USC
The Titans didn’t pick up Jack Conklin’s fifth-year option, so that should tell you what they think of the 2016 first-round pick. On a team that prioritizes the run, it’s imperative Tennessee’s line remains strong. Jackson’s background is at left tackle, but he’s too good to pass up at No. 29.
30. Green Bay Packers: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
Imagine forcing Aaron Rodgers to perform in the twilight of his career throwing to the likes of Jake Kumerow, Allen Lazard, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Get Rodgers a real receiver before it’s too late.
31. San Francisco 49ers: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
If Gladney does well for himself at the combine, he’s a player who could jump into the back part of the first round. Ahkello Witherspoon had a rocky third season, and the 49ers could look to bolster their talent in the secondary.
32. Seattle Seahawks: Zack Baun, LB, Wisconsin
Baun isn’t a traditional edge rusher, but that didn’t stop him in 2019. He finished the season with 12.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss for Wisconsin, and his skill set as a speed linebacker standing up translates to the NFL.

Some of these are ~established (you cried, Jared, deal with it) With the caveat that some of these characters would NEVER be in this situation (ahem Michael Brouwer), if they WERE theoretically in this situation:
There’s a varying LEVEL of crying at weddings here? Like I have Dan as a wedding crier and Marc as not a wedding crier? But you better believe if/when Charlie or Leon got married Marc would be weepy all day. And then we have the scale of like ‘gets a little misty, needs to blink a lot’ (Georgie, for example, and only at some weddings), versus ‘full on needs a pack of tissues’ (Jake Feels No Shame, It’s So Beautiful), but that is TOO MUCH TO BREAK DOWN.
Also with the exception of Dan/Marc and Bryce/Jared, which you know, had their weddings canonically depicted, this is more a ~vibe I feel rather than True Facts because so often these characters zag when I expect zigging. Like, catch me writing Gabe and Stephen getting married one day and Stephen Dry Eyed Petersen bursting into tears just to spite me.
Cries at weddings and would cry at his own:
Georgie Dineen
Roman Novak
Bryce Marcus
Cries at weddings but wouldn't cry at his own:
Dan Riley
Liam Fitzgerald
Jake Lourdes
Joey Munroe
Thomas Vincent
Evan Connelly
Doesn't cry at weddings and wouldn't cry at his own:
Marc Lapointe
Andy Bowman
Nikita Sidorchuk
Stephen Petersen
Gabe Markson
Mike Brouwer
David Chapman
Ulf Larsson
Adam Rousseau
Nick Angelopoulos
Doesn't cry at weddings but would cry at his own:
Derek Carruthers
Luke Morris
Anton Petrov
Robbie Lombardi
Harry Chalmers
Jared Matheson
i'm afraid after finding out joey cries at weddings and scratch doesn't i desperately need the final character personality clasification thingy for the ycmal verse: cries at weddings and would cry at his own, cries at weddings but wouldn't cry at his own, doesn't cry at weddings and wouldn't cry at his own, doesn't cry at weddings but would cry at his own
oOOOH.
Coming right up!

EXHILES
Ignis -RSI of a 15 year old boy -One of the several siblings of one program from the first Matrix beta that controlled the routines of elements. Once deemed absolute, the siblings went into hiding and escaped into the second beta. This continued on until present day, Ignis being the last of the original element program. -One of the oldest Exhiles, Ignis is extremely powerful. However, their power had diminished greatly since they forced themself into a Redpill’s body by jacking into their RSI and taking over the body on the outside of the Matrix. They now live in fear of returning to the Matrix and being discovered as a program by humans.
Raziel and Grigori -RSI of twin 30 year old men -Seraphim made obsolete after the creation of Agents, they refused to submit to The Source for deactivation and escaped into the modern Matrix. -They are often taken as nuisances by Redpills and Bluepills alike, though their help is often sought when other Exhiles can not help. -Actively trying to keep humans from destroying the Matrix completely, but free them at the same time, has lead to them going slightly off the deep end; making them even more of a nuisance than ever before.
War -RSI of a 50 year old man -Created during the second Matrix beta he, like most programs from so early on, was replaced with a newer and far more functional program. Refusing to submit to deletion he escaped into the modern Matrix. -Unlike the other Exhiles, War actively and openly enjoys messing with coding and causing issues for Agents and other programs, and has time and time again hunted down and destroyed his successor programs; leaving The Architect scrambling to make a new one every so often.
--Too lazy to look up an icon, but the Keymaker falls under this Category.
PROGRAMS
Nemesio -RSI of a 40 year old man -A powerful program despite being newer to the Matrix, Nemesio is a complex program in charge of making the Matrix believable for the human minds connected to it. This includes creating natural disaster, crime, general strife, etc -He is generally not seen or heard, as a functioning program ought to be, but there seems to be a glitch in his program that will make him show himself every so often; meaning he will soon be asked to return to The Source for deletion... though it is doubtful he will listen to orders.
--To lazy to look up an icon for him, but Smith will fall under both Program and Exhile category depending on the RP.
HUMANS
Romulus -RSI same as physical appearance -Named Robbie Hawthorne within the Matrix -Captain of the Hovercraft Latona -While not as popular as Morpheus, Romulus is a well liked and prominent figure in Zion. His opinions and battle strategy are always sought after, and the council often seek his advice on matters. His calm mannerisms translate well into the Matrix, giving him a cool edge even in the worst situations. His crew consists of the following: -Marius; Mechanic -Didrik; Pilot -Lionel; Mechanic -Asha; Co-pilot -Hasley; Medic -Magnus; Weapons -Riley; Operator --Riley is the Redpill that Ignis in habits; Riley as a consciousness no longer exists.
--Too lazy to look up icons but Morpheus and Link fall under this category.

Hey friends, it’s Kayla again (Margot Robbie mascot on the main in case anyone missed my intro on Taryn). Tbh?? I’m trash and basically decided to make Maks over here after watching a few Jake Riley videos on youtube. Sorry not sorry. Anyways, I won’t bore you with details about me (I’m 25, from the EST time zone, and a Virgo in case you were wondering...). Go beneath the cut to read more about this #workinprogress.
He’s really 107 (math is not my friend and I’m p. sure I added things up wrong so ignore age for now) but triggered his curse when he was 27 fighting in WWII. Basically he’s a soldier through and through and has prob. fought in every war/conflict since then. However, he’s prob not a v. good soldier bc he prefers just taking people out rather than getting permission first. Not evil?? He has mad honor but he’s just trigger happy, impatient, and impulsive. Like... less bullshit let’s just get this done.
Is an asshole and will adopt a fake accent for laughs and to live up to his name but don’t let him fool you... boy is from South Carolina and has only been to Russia like... six times?
Presently he’s found his calling in law enforcement but secretly misses having a cause to fight for so he’s deadass all about this whole situation right now.
Like any werewolf he’s v. prone to aggression and snapping his teeth at you but is secretly a puppy. Maybe? Kind of. Shhhh.
He’ll be anybody’s friend for the most part but keeps his heart v. guarded because he’s lost so many people in the past and he’s #overit.
Speaking of which, he was married before but his wife passed away and he hasn’t done the whole relationship song and dance since.
Has no kids but he loves kids. Puppy Maks comes out to play around the wee ones.
Also protective AF and gets legit ENRAGED when people disrespect/harm women or children. Like he will tear into you without thinking twice so... hey, don’t do that.
Is full of emotions but is an island and will never let you know.
Respects people who call him out on his shit and who give him shit back.
He’s been here since the safe haven began so like... they can totes be friends if you’d like?

[TOP 16 FILMS OF 2016] [AMERICAN HONEY]
DIRECTED & WRITTEN Andrea Arnold CINEMATOGRAPHY Robbie Ryan STARRING Sasha Lane, Shia LaBeouf, Riley Keough, McCaul Lombardi, Arielle Holmes
WHAT IT’S ABOUT A teenage girl with nothing to lose joins a traveling magazine sales crew, and gets caught up in a whirlwind as she criss-crosses the Midwest with a band of other adolescents searching for belonging.
MY THOUGHTS By the time this film was over, I was shocked by how much I didn’t want it to end. The atmosphere Arnold builds is downright infectious, and even when things are bleak, intense, or uncomfortable, Star’s story is positively enthralling. What I love about Arnold’s films is, even though she may portray some of the darkest aspects of girlhood, she never makes her character wallow in victimhood of her situation.
Although this film may take place in areas of the midwest we don’t often see on screen, it still somehow is able to get under the skin, instantly visceral and relatable. Anyone can identify with that sense of wanting a way out—whether it’s a way out of your situation, out of toxicity, or even out of your own head. I dare you not to utter “whoa,” after the last shot of this epic road movie electrifies the screen.

Mare of Easttown Ending Explained: Who Killed Erin McMenamin?
https://ift.tt/3cnN57h
This article contains spoilers for the Mare of Easttown finale.
Mare of Easttown creator Brad Inglesby never wanted the ending of his detective story to come completely out of leftfield (or to use a basketball analogy in honor of the title character: be a half-court heave).
In speaking to Collider in advance of the series (or season?) finale, Inglesby said: “I hope (the) audience trusts that we’ll do right, in terms of the ending. It’s not gonna be one of those endings where it’s like, ‘If you blinked in episode 1, it was that weird guy in the woods,’ or something like that.”
Well now that the Mare of Easttown finale has concluded, it appears as though Inglesby kept that promise. The answer of “who killed Erin McMenamin” was certainly surprising but also refreshingly guessable. In fact, we came pretty close to guessing it ourselves! This finale hammers home the stark reality that finding the murderer isn’t truly an ending…only a continuation of pain for a family and a community.
It’s all deftly done. So let’s examine precisely how Mare of Easttown pulled it off, and answer any lingering questions in the process.
Who Killed Erin McMenamin?
Ryan Ross killed Erin McMenamin. Period. Point blank. By episode’s end, there is no ambiguity whatsoever on that fact. Prior to that reveal roughly 40 minutes in, however, Mare of Easttown is sure to throw us some final red herrings along the way.
The conclusion of the penultimate episode seemed to confirm that Ryan’s uncle Billy Ross (Robbie Tann) was the one who slept with Erin, fathered her wee baby DJ, and subsequently murdered her. The finale, “Sacrament”, wastes no time in confessing to the audience that this was all misdirection. The photo that Erin’s friend Jess Riley brought to the police station revealed Erin and Billy’s brother John Ross in bed together.
In reality it was Mare’s best friend Lori’s husband, John, who had an affair with the underage teen (who also may have been a second or third cousin of his, depending on his relation to Kenny McMenamin). After Mare successfully arrests John, he confesses to the whole situation in excruciating detail. Back during the Ross family reunion in Lake Harmony on May 29, 2017, Erin was in the same trailer as Billy Ross. When Billy and Erin’s father Kenny both passed out drunk, John paid her a visit. The two got to talking and a wildly inappropriate love connection was formed.
John tells Mare that during the night of Erin’s murder, he agreed to visit her in the park. He says that Erin brought a gun and threatened to kill herself so they struggled over the weapon and Erin’s finger was shot off. John panicked and fired another shot that turned out to be lethal. Of course, none of John’s description of the night in question is true but Mare doesn’t figure that out until days after John is arrested.
How Does Mare Figure The Case Out?
The Easttown police department is fairly certain they’ve got their man in John Ross. And why wouldn’t they? He confessed to the murder and it’s clearly true that he is the father of DJ. As time goes on, however, Mare begins to notice some inconsistencies. The first moment that Mare realizes something might be amiss is when she confronts the woman that John supposedly rekindled his affair with at a pizza parlor.
The woman, Sandra, is livid with Mare. She swears up and down that after their first affair she never got back together with John. But Lori told Mare that Ryan was acting up in school because he had witnessed his father carrying on with Sandra. That’s a little odd.
Next, Mare realizes that the ballistics on the weapon that John said he used to kill Erin do not match the initial report of a decommissioned police revolver. Mare asks Chief Carter whether he trusts the ballistics expert they used to get this determination and he said he does. That’s a little odd as well.

Mare of Easttown Is a Story of Addiction
By Erin Qualey
These questions rattling around Mare’s head probably wouldn’t lead to much if it weren’t for the intervention of Mare’s neighbor Glenn Carroll. Glenn is friendly with the Sheehan family (overly so, as it turns out, when he reveals he had an affair with Mare’s mother…during his own wife’s wake). Throughout the series, Mare visits the Carrolls to investigate bits of petty vandalism on their property. Now that Glenn’s wife Betty has died, however, his mental state is deteriorating and he needs some extra help from Mare.
Glenn claims that one of his pistols went missing for a couple of days before being returned to his shed. Mare asks who had access to said shed and Glenn reveals that it’s only him and the neighborhood kid he pays to landscape…Ryan Ross.
Why Did Ryan Kill Erin McMenamin?
It turns out that John Ross’s story about Erin’s murder rings true because it mostly was true…it’s just that his son Ryan was at the center of it rather than himself. Ryan was truly devastated by his father’s affair with Sandra. When he realized that his father was up to his old tricks again, he intercepted a text message on John’s phone from Erin asking him to come meet her at the park.
Ryan used his key to the Carroll’s shed to grab the old police-issued revolver locked within it. He then arrived at the park to confront Erin, scare her, and convince her to stay away from his family. Unfortunately, in the heightened emotional situation, Erin reached for the gun and Ryan fired it twice, first shooting off Erin’s finger, and then striking her in the head. Frightened, Ryan called his father for help and John and Billy arrived to take Erin’s body away.
What’s Next For Mare and Lori’s Relationship?
Again, Mare of Easttown isn’t only about the logical satisfaction in solving a murder. It’s also about the emotional devastation that any murder leaves behind in its wake. In Mare’s case, there’s a grim irony in the fact that she just saved her old basketball teammate Dawn’s daughter, and now she has to take away the son of her other former basketball teammate and current best friend, Lori.
Right after Ryan is arrested, Mare gets in the passenger seat of Lori’s car to try to comfort her. Naturally, Lori is too hurt to accept that Mare was just doing her job.
“You had John. Why couldn’t you just leave it alone? It’s Ryan. My Ryan! MY RYAN!” Lori cries. “My whole family is gone now because of you. Get away from me. I don’t want to see you again.”
It seems as though that could be the end of Mare and Lori’s relationship, just as Mare and Dawn’s relationship once fractured due to Mare doing her job (poorly that time though). But then something remarkable happens. Mare, along with seemingly the rest of Easttown, attends a church service held by exonerated Deacon Mark Burton.
Burton acknowledges that Easttown has been through a lot recently and there are citizens experiencing a lot of pain. Their fellow neighbors, however, can’t leave those in pain alone. No matter how awkward it may seem, they must lift each other up and be insistent upon it. “Our job is only to love,” Burton says.
So Mare does exactly that. She heads to Lori’s house, finds Lori in the kitchen and wordlessly holds her. Lori collapses in grief while Mare continues to support her friend. The issue with Mare and Dawn’s relationship wasn’t that Mare failed Dawn, it was that Mare failed Dawn and then gave up on her. Mare will not be giving up on Lori this time around.
What About Richard Ryan?
So what was the deal with Mare’s writer boyfriend Richard Ryan? Surely, Guy Pearce is too big a name as an actor to merely play some dude passing through town without any murderous intentions. As it turns out, Richard Ryan was probably Mare of Easttown’s biggest red herring. He’s not sinister and he’s not even particularly helpful. He’s just a guy…or a Guy in this case.
Right before Mare learns the truth about Erin’s murder, Richard packs up and leaves town for a year-long gig at Bates College. Mare and Richard resolve to keep in touch but it’s unclear if they will. Richard says a year is not a long time, but think of everything that just happened over the span of one year in Easttown. It may as well be an eternity.
Perhaps the purpose of Richard Ryan in this story is to present one non-Easttown native who has the option to stay in town but doesn’t take it, contrasting with characters like Deacon Mark Burton or Mare herself.
Will There Be a Mare of Easttown Season 2?
In that same Collider interview, Inglesby makes it clear just how much he loves Mare Sheehan as a character.
“I loved writing her because I just thought she was awesome. I just loved that she was tough. I just loved Mare. I still love Mare,” Inglesby said.
Given the creator’s love of his creation (and the involvement of a superb actress in Kate Winslet) it’s not hard to imagine the pair reuniting again for another Mare Sheehan detective story set in Easttown or elsewhere. Something tells me though that this is the end of the line for Mare of Easttown.
In the show’s final moments, Mare decides to do something of enormous personal significance. She opens up the attic door and climbs up the stairs for the first time since she found her son dead. It’s a major sign that Mare has learned from the traumatic experiences that her community just underwent and she’s prepared to confront her own personal trauma.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
That’s a major marker of personal growth and it’s something that you can only do once in a story. There will certainly be more crimes in Easttown for Mare to solve, but now that she’s figured out herself, what else is there left to say?
